Nick Mills Blue Note Project ‘It Must Schwing’

At Twickenham Jazz Club's Stage

It is my great pleasure to welcome back this amazing band!

Come along to enjoy and celebrate the last concert of what has been a fabulous summer Jazz season at Twickenham Jazz Club.

Expect an expressive display of love and devotion to the iconic Blue Note record label by some of our most experienced, innovative and talented musicians garnished with a subtle dressing of humour, creativity and sheer musical genius.

Blue Note

The famous Blue Note label was Founded in America in 1939 by Alfred Liaz and Max Margulis who were Jewish immigrants escaping Nazi persecution.

It became the most prolific, influential and respected record label of the mid-20th century and is credited with shaping the course of Jazz, Swing, and Blues music. Think of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Hank Mobley and many more.

Or don’t think at all, just come along and enjoy the glorious sound that had its heyday in the 1950’s and 1960’s but is still transforming musicians today

Nick Mills

Endlessly busy, incredibly popular and loved by audiences far and wide, Nick is one of our finest exponents of his beloved instrument ‘The Trombone.’ Cited as being the musical instrument that is closest to the human voice in expression and resolve, few master the art as well as he does.

This delightful evening will also be Lesley’s Happy Birthday Celebration.

The club resumes on Wednesday 11th September.
