Ineza & “Women’s Words, Sisters’ Stories”

At Twickenham Jazz Club's Stage

This poignant program of music is presented by the great pianist, arranger and composer Alex Webb who has introduced many great new vocalists to our celebrated Patchworks stage. Alex has a long history of working with leading jazz vocalists. His original songs are revered and have been recorded by Liane Carroll, China Moses, Jo Harrop, Allan Harris, Cherise, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and many others.

This time he presents Ineza, a new and inspiring vocalist with a stunning voice and programme of great Jazz songs.

Beautifully angelic yet powerfully soulful and jazzy, Ineza’s voice is simply dazzling.

A Rwandan-born Belgian jazz singer based in London, Ineza is a graduate of both Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Maastricht Conservatoire in the Netherlands. She is also a passionate educator; alongside her work as a singing teacher, she has been involved in numerous workshops and leading projects. Additionally, she is an inspiring composer.

“Women’s Words, Sisters’ Stories” explores the repertoire penned by the great female songstresses – Billie Holiday’s “Tell Me More,” Peggy Lee’s “It’s a Good Day,” Abbey Lincoln’s “Throw It Away,” Betty Carter’s “Tight,” and many more, including poet Fran Landesman’s classic lyric “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most.” Bringing it up to date are songs written by a new wave of jazz divas, including Jazzmeia Horn, Cecile McLorin Salvant, and Rachelle Ferrell.

I am so looking forward to this evening and I hope that you are too.
