Lulu Pierre is a rising star in the London jazz vocal scene. She is known for her classic Torch Song style, similar to Nancy Wilson’s sassy delivery and Sarah Vaughan’s swing. Additionally, she has a talent for performing heart-wrenching ballads. Accompanied by the skilled pianist Alex Webb and his trio, Pierre sings timeless hits from the Great American Songbook, as well as some unexpected non-jazz selections.
Tony Kofi is an accomplished musician who has received multiple awards and nominations. He won the Best Instrumentalist Award at the 2008 BBC Jazz Awards, Best Ensemble at the 2005 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, and Album of the Year at the 2005 BBC Jazz Awards. He was also nominated for a MOBO award in 2008. Tony is a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and has hosted Ronnie Scott’s Late Night Jam Session. Furthermore, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Will Young, McFly, and NYJO.
Alex Webb is an an inspiring pianist, arranger and songwriter with a long history of working with leading jazz vocalists. His original compositions have been recorded by Lianne Carroll, China Moses, Jo Harrop, Allan Harris, and many more. His performances with Lulu have sold out at some of our favourite London venues including Crazy Coc’s, Hampstead Jazz Club, The Bear Club and The Pheasantry.
