Nothing makes life feel more like Summer than Hot Latin Rhythm and Sound, and who better to present this than our own Real Age Guru of Vibraphone Roger Beaujolais.

Roger Beaujolais

Roger first found fame with the legendary jumping Jive outfit ‘The Chevalier Brothers. He later joined the folk/Rock band ‘Fairground Attraction’, produced many solo Jazz albums and recorded with well-known artists including Robert Plank, Paul Weller, Kirsty MacColl and Alexander O’Neal.

He combines his UK tours with regular trips to Rimini, Italy with his Italian trio and yet more recording.

On Wednesday night, he will be sharing his knowledge and love of Latin music. Think of Benny Jolson, Killer Jo, Antônio Carlos Jobim and the great vibraphone player Cal Tjader who is credited with being the greatest non-Latino Latin musician to have lived.

It is sometimes hard to comprehend that Roger is completely self-taught, a late developer who learnt his art by following his instinctive passion for his chosen instrument, listening to his inner calling and playing with many great musicians, over very many years which consistently kept him busy and in the public eye.

Suffice to say there will be great Summertime Vibes at Twickenham Jazz Club on Wednesday night.

We hope that you can join us for the penultimate concert of our summer season.
