The Band
James Allsopp: Saxophone
Composer, musical educator and innovator James is a truly inspiring player, discreetly highly respected he has worked with some of the finest musicians in the Jazz industry, including Jamie Cullum, Django Bates, ‘The Last Poets’, and many more. He holds the BBC Jazz award for innovation and his first album instantly won a Ronnie Scotts award.
He is also an endearing communicator and we look forward to his first guest appearance at our club.
Ross Stanley: Piano
No stranger to our club (and all of our most famous Jazz clubs) it is always delightful to welcome Ross Stanley to the Patchworks stage. Ross is simply gifted and endlessly inspires accolades and awe for his intuitive musicality.
Mirko Scarcia: Double Bass
Some of you may remember Italian-born Mirko’s introduction to the club when we were all spellbound by his sensitive accompaniment to vocalist Anita Wardell, Since making London his permanent home he has built a great reputation on the jazz scene and is now one of the capitals busiest and in-demand bassists. Perhaps it is his Italian charm?
Tim Giles: Drums
Described by the Telegraph as “A Cutting Edge Drummer” Tim was a musical child prodigy who left school at 16 and has been a full-time musician ever since. He is the principal lecturer at The Leeds Conservatoire and like James is also a qualified practitioner of the Alexander technique. The two have worked together for many years on a variety of projects and have a musical chemistry that never fails to delight.
