Get ready for a night of enchanting melodies and soul-stirring jazz, as we bring you the exceptionally talented jazz pianist and composer, Kate Williams! 🌟🎹

About Kate Williams

Born into a family oozing with musical talent (her dad’s the legendary guitarist John Williams, and her mom’s a classical pianist), Kate Williams is a force to be reckoned with in the jazz world. She’s not only an outstanding performer but also a gifted composer.

Kate is not your ordinary jazz artist. She loves to blend different musical influences and create magic on the keys.

Her Journey:

Kate’s no stranger to accolades. She snagged the prestigious John Dankworth Award for Talent Deserving Wider Recognition, and she deserves every note of it! She co-founded the “Interplay Series” with conductor William Goodchild, where they mixed Bill Evans’ classics with the beauty of Ravel and Debussy, creating something truly unique.

In 2019, she orchestrated a spellbinding performance with the Bristol Symphony Orchestra at Clifton Cathedral, featuring her quartet and the mesmerizing flautist Gareth Lockrane.

Kate’s ensemble “Four Plus Three” is another gem in her musical crown, combining her trio with a string quartet for an unforgettable sonic experience.

Awards and Recognition:

Kate’s latest masterpiece, “Finding Home,” in collaboration with vocalist Georgia Mancio and Four Plus Three, even features her father, the guitar legend John Williams, on a couple of tracks. It was crowned the Best Album at the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards! 🏆🎵

Notable Collaborations:

Kate is not just about solo brilliance; she’s been part of some remarkable ensembles and recorded with vocalists like Georgia Mancio and Juliet Kelly. Plus, she’s shared the stage with some of the UK’s finest artists, including Anita Wardell, Henry Lowther, Stan Sulzmann, and many more.

She’s also a founding member of “Way Out West,” a collective of West London jazz musicians who’ve been curating fantastic gigs for over a decade. 🎶

Glowing Reviews:

If you need any more convincing, let the reviews do the talking. Critics have raved about her live performances, especially her “Four Plus Three” shows, calling them “truly compelling” and a “glorious music experience.”
