‘Evocative, completely immersive, and unapologetically beautiful.’ – Mike Gates, UK Vibe ★★★★★
‘An exquisitely talented performer and composer’ – Frank Griffiths, London Jazz News
This evening’s concert on Patchworks’ intimate stage is very special and different yet again.
We present the music of the celebrated pianist Joy Ellis.
Joy is an accomplished jazz musician and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Her musical intuition is reminiscent of jazz legends such as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Brad Mehldau, but her compositions and style are very unique to her. She recently had a successful tour of the UK, which was funded by The Arts Council. Chris Philips, a Jazz FM presenter, praised her performance as “a shimmering triumph.”
This will truly be a listening evening and a chance to absorb, reflect and relax deeply as her gentle compositions wash over us, ably supported by Adam Ormanski on Drums and Henrik Jenson on Double Bass.
Another night to remember at our special club.
