Django Reinhardt 1910-1953
Django was a Manouche, Romany, Belgian Jazz violinist and guitarist who famously lost his 3rd and 4th fingers in a caravan fire at the age of 18. Undeterred he abandoned his violin and banjo, and concentrated on playing guitar.
His extraordinary musicianship still inspires musicians and intellectuals 6 decades after his passing.
Sadly like many brilliant musicians his life was short as he collapsed after playing at Paris nightclub at the tender age of 43 but his legacy continues through his music. The music is joyous and uplifting
This night promises to be another classic and memorable concert at our unique club.
