Twickenham Jazz Club's Past Gigs

Alex Garnett: “Ellington and More”

A heartfelt Thank You to all band members:
Alex Garnett: Saxophone,
Alex Hutton: Piano,
Rob Rickenberg: Double Bass,
Alfonzo Vitale: Drums

To many Alex Garnett needs no introduction, known, loved and respected by musicians and audiences alike for his incredible musicality, pure Jazz pedigree and gorgeous humorous soul. Stepping in for Pete Long, who is not well, this promises to be very special for anyone who comes along.

This very special evening — Ellington and More — celebrates the timeless music of Duke Ellington alongside a rich collection of classic repertoire.

Joining him is the wonderful Alex Hutton Trio, whose subtle interplay, lyricism and impeccable swing make them one of the most sensitive and accomplished groups on the scene today.

Alex remains one of our club favourites — a pianist of exceptional sensitivity, taste and quiet authority. His playing is lyrical, harmonically rich and always deeply connected to the heart of the music. What makes Alex so special is his extraordinary ability to listen and respond in the moment, shaping performances that feel intimate, conversational and completely alive.

Together these musicians promise an evening of warmth, beauty, humour and musical storytelling of the very highest order.

We do hope you can join us for what promises to be another unforgettable evening at the club.

Best wishes,

Lesley x
